Foundation and new grand announcement

ACT launches a new foundation to scale textile recycling and expand opportunities for communities, supported by a major grant to strengthen Kenya’s circular fashion systems.

Since our founding, we have been at the forefront of building circular solutions for fashion across Kenya and Nigeria. Now, it is 2025, and we are taking it further with the launch of ACT Foundation, a dedicated non-profit focused on scaling textile waste solutions while creating economic opportunities for vulnerable communities.

On the 17th of January 2025, the SHEIN Foundation announced a 5 million Euro grant to scale textile collection and recycling efforts in Kenya. To us, this grant is a great opportunity to shape Kenya’s recycling sector. We will establish more textile drop-off points, expand recycling infrastructure and create jobs particularly for youth, women and vulnerable groups, while tackling the global fashion waste crisis.

Our mission remains steadfast to advance circular systems in fashion while advocating for policies and practices that hold brands and producers accountable for their environmental impact. With every kilo we collect and recycle, we aim to drive meaningful change.
